TOP-RATED NONPROFIT (2020)

Forever Husky, Inc. NAMED “2020 TOP-RATED NONPROFIT” by GreatNonprofits

Crystal Lake, Illinois November 12, 2020 – Forever Husky announced today it has been named a “2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits.

Forever Husky is a foster-based rescue that works each and every year to reduce the number of euthanized dogs by helping countless Huskies here at home and across the nation.

“We are honored to be named a 2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” said Lance Laureys, Founder and President of Forever Husky. “We are proud of our accomplishments, especially during this challenging year. Our fosters work extremely hard—taking in rescued Huskies, healing them, helping them, and preparing them for adoption. A lot of hard work and love goes into fostering a Husky as we try to prepare them for their new home. Beyond the obstacles we typically face, there’s the pandemic. Despite the additional challenges COVID-19 has brought us, our Director of Transport, Monica Marshall, has successfully moved over 450 dogs (double from the previous year) from kill shelters across the country into the safety of other rescues across the US.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that Forever Husky received from volunteers, fosters, donors, adopters, and the general public. A previous adopter writes, “Amazing place! 10/10! 5 stars isn’t enough for them. (…) This place has the biggest heart around. They care for each and every one of those pups. We got Jack (Jackie) from them and they worked with us until we found a great fit. They keep in touch with you, they make you feel like family. We will be getting our next Husky from them. (…)”

“Forever Husky is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Forever Husky.”

GreatNonprofits is the leading website where people share stories about their personal experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofits. The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, volunteers and recipients of aid.

About Forever Husky, Inc.

Forever Husky is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to saving Huskies and Husky-mixes. In 2011, Founder and President Lance Laureys, started Forever Husky with a mission to educate people about what it really means to own a Husky, from typical traits to training to nutrition to veterinary care. Since then, Forever Husky’s mission has expanded to include rescuing high-risk Huskies from coast-to-coast...California to Carolina... and coordinating adoptions. So far, we’ve placed more than 100 dogs in their forever homes. But, we’re more than just a Husky rescue. Forever Husky believes in helping Huskies AND humans alike. We strive to provide services and support to other organizations including assisting with coordinating transportation or securing food donations to share with local shelters. We also work with individuals who are considering re-homing their Husky. Whether it’s access to resources, support or services, to this day education remains at the heart of what we do and why we do it. To put it simply, our goal is to help all Huskies go home and stay home!
