On January 13, 2015, at 8pm – Sweet and Gentle Malo has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 4.5 and will be remembered by Jeri (our foster), all of you on Facebook that have been following him and of course the Forever Husky team. We can say that while he may have had a short life, he will be remembered and loved by each and every one of us who helped in fight to survive.
A little about Malo.
Malo was an owner surrender that was turned into Joliet Animal Control and was extremely sick and constantly vomiting. Forever Husky was asked if we were willing to pull him, which we did, and transferred him to the ER Hospital at Companion Animal Specialty in Crystal Lake. Upon investigation of his blood work, Malo’s prognosis was that he was in Kidney failure. After much discussion with the vet and specialists we determined that his kidney’s never grew as a puppy to adult size and there was nothing that we could do.
So where did Malo come from?
Malo is the product of another Puppy Mill (Oleo Acres Kennels, Inc. out of Iowa) and was than later sold to Joe’s Pet Salon in Chicago Illinois. We can thank the lawmakers of Chicago and Cook County for finally banning the sale of puppy mill dogs, but just a little to late for Malo. We hope that you find this information valuable on what really happens to some of these poor dogs that come from these puppy mills.
